Arike Ogunbowale breaks WNBA ALL Star game record

Arike Ogunbowale breaks WNBA ALL Star game record

There was lots of talk before the 2024 WNBA All-star game between the WNBA All-Stars and WNBA Team USA. Both of them were historically huge rosters.

Including big names like Breanna Stewart, A'ja Wilson, Sabrina Ionescu and Brittney Griner on Team USA. This team will be representing The United States during the Olympics coming up in Paris.

Arike Ogunbowale had a historic WNBA  All-Star Game. Breanna Stewart is the first player with 30 points and 10 rebounds in a WNBA  All-Star Game, and rookie Angel Reese is the first rookie to hit a double-double, making 12 points and 11 rebounds!

WNBA All-Stars included amazing 2024 rookies Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. Although both of these extremely talented players showed why they were chosen for this team, there was one very obvious player who shined.

Arike Ogunbowale had ZERO points at halftime. That didn't last long. She had a quick pep talk in the locker room with coach Cheryl Miller. What was the talk about?

Very simply, "just breathe and play your game". By listening to this advice and applying it on the court, she was able too score a hugely impressive 34 points! Watching her speed, agility and ball control was very fun and exciting.

Her impressive 34 point run in the second half made her the clear favorite to win the MVP award for the 2024 WNBA All-Star game. Which of course, she was more than happy to receive at the end of the game.

During the 2nd half Flau'jae Johnson was live streaming the game on her Instagram, with Paige Bueckers and Sheryl Swoopes making a appearance as well. In the video you can clearly hear Flau'jae Johnson claiming that Arike Ogunbowale is definitely the MVP of the All-Star game.

She played a big role in helping the WNBA All-Stars to beat Team USA 117-109!

Before the All-Star game even started, Stephen A. Smith said he believed that Team USA would definitely show why they were picked to represent our country. Check out this clip below.
