When using bath salts, consider the following safety tips to ensure a positive experience:
- Frequency of Use: Avoid using bath salts on your skin daily. Over-exfoliation can lead to dryness and irritation. It’s generally safe to exfoliate two to three times a week. For dry or sensitive skin, limit exfoliation to once a week.
- Application Areas: These products are intended for the body, not the face. Facial skin is more sensitive and may react negatively to abrasive scrubs.
Avoid Exfoliating Damaged Skin: Steer clear of using bath salts on skin that is:
- Sunburned
- Chapped or broken
- Red or swollen
- Recovering from a chemical peel
Essential Oils Use: Perform a patch test to ensure no allergic reaction occurs.
Consult a Professional: If you have sensitive skin or a skin condition, consult with a dermatologist to determine the best exfoliation routine for you.
