2024 WNBA Origins features player worn jersey cards, Gold (/10), "ultra-rare" Swirl and 1 of 1 Black cards

What you need to know

There will be 2 Autographs, 1 Memorabilia card, and 2 Inserts per box on average, and base cards.  You will get 10 cards per pack.

The base set details and parallels were not released in full yet, but there will be Gold (#'d/10), "ultra-rare" Swirl and 1/1 Black cards.

Look for Euphoria cards, "ultra-rare" Sneaker Spotlight insert cards and "super short-printed" inserts will include Tiger Eyes and Blank Slate.

Suggested Price

Boxes carry a suggested retail price of $125, but please remember that will be a suggested retail price. Some places may even go as high as $300-$500 a box.

Each business can price these for whatever they wish. Especially for the first boxes off the line. Do some research and save your self some money.

When these become more widely available for purchase, Ebay may be a good spot and also the whatnot app.

Different Types of Cards

This area covers what type of WNBA 2024 Origins basketball cards and their definition you could possibly expect to receive.

Common Cards

Also commonly known as "Base Cards." These cards will make up the base of players in this set.

Base Set

The collection of Common Cards used in this set.

Rookie Card

A WNBA basketball player's first major trading card.

Parallel Cards

Slight variations of the common cards and can be found randomly inserted into these packs. They can range from foil color, to card stock or my personal favorite numbering.

Insert Cards

Known to many as "Chase Cards." Manufacturer's specialty cards that are randomly inserted into packs or boxes at a lesser rate than common cards. They have specific designs in addition to definitive Parallels. Making them highly collectible to most people.

Insert Set

A collection of all the Insert Cards from one specific insert.

Memorabilia

Commonly known as a "Relic" or "Patch" card. These are "Insert Cards" that contain pieces of various relics or patches from jerseys, equipment, and who knows.

Autograph Cards

Insert Cards with an actual signature from a select list of WNBA athlete's will be featured in this set.
Which autographs are you chasing after? We would love to hit Caitlin Clark, Cameron Brink, Maya Moore and at least 5 other players.

Hobby Cards or Box

Cards only offered in the "Hobby" version of this set. Hobby products are available only at hobby stores that specialize in collectibles. Hobby products will usually have specific cards and special packaging to seperate them from their "Retail" version.

Retail Cards

These cards are only offered in the "Retail" version of a program*. Retail products are available only at major retail stores. Retail products sometimes contain specific cards and special packaging to separate them from their "Hobby" box version.
*This is not happening with WNBA 2024 Origins hobby boxes or cases.

Ratio or Drop Rates

Also known as the drop rate. This is how often an "Insert Card" may fall in a program. (Example - 1:45 would mean that one "insert card" would come in every 45 packs). In this scenario of 1 pack per Origins box, you may as well consider it 1 per hobby box.

How many to Buy?

Being a financially responsible collector isn't always easy, but if you can afford it and enjoy it then why not? 
I know when I get a chance, 2 hobby boxes are gonna be opened by us. We like most of you are super excited for this release. We will write a article featuring which cards we got.
